For Open Water competitions, combining small touchpads and an IDCam (high resolution camera system) is the ideal combination. For each touch of a swimmer at the touchpad, a series of high- resolution images is stored along with the time of day on a PC. This means the finish line is always monitored and starting numbers of swimmers can be evaluated from the images.
