Whitewater Canoeing

Whitewater slalom paddlers negotiate their way down a distance of whitewater rapids through a series of pairs of hanging poles. The course is a natural riverbed with classic races or sprint races. Time penalties are assessed for striking poles or missing gates. The paddler uses a single bladed paddle and kneels inside the decked boat.
